The National Portrait Gallery has recently unveiled their online ‘Schools Hub’, which features a short film of Nina at work in her studio, revealing the processes behind her highly detailed drawings. Nina describes her path to becoming an artist and offers advice to people setting out on their own artistic journey, discussing the challenges and rewards of being a creative person. As she looks through her old sketchbooks, she explains how visiting galleries in London while growing up motivated her to draw.

 

This new online platform from the National Portrait Gallery includes 150 recently commissioned learning resources and videos aligned with the National Curriculum. Created with input from teachers, artists, historians, and education experts, it aims to connect students with key individuals, and themes such as identity, empire, and migration.
